2.3 Push Notifications (iOS App)

The iOS app can send you push notifications about new articles and updates. To enable push notifications, you must grant permission in your iOS settings. Apple manages the push notification infrastructure (APNs), and we do not store your device token or personal information beyond what is necessary to deliver notifications.

2.4 User Accounts and Authentication

When you create an account or sign in to CertGPS, we use Firebase Authentication (provided by Google) to manage your identity. You can sign in using:

• Sign in with Apple - We receive your Apple ID email (which may be a private relay email) and a unique user identifier
• Sign in with Google - We receive your Google account email, display name, and a unique user identifier
• Sign in with GitHub - We receive your GitHub email, username, and a unique user identifier

We use this information solely to identify your account and provide personalized features such as syncing your favorites across devices.

2.5 Cloud Data Storage

When you are signed in, your favorites and preferences are stored in Firebase Cloud Firestore (provided by Google) to enable synchronization across your devices. This includes:

• Your list of favorite certifications
• Timestamps of when favorites were added

If you are not signed in, your favorites are stored locally on your device only.

2.6 Local Storage

The app also uses local device storage to:

• Cache your favorites for offline access
• Store app preferences and settings

2.7 Firebase Services

We use Firebase services provided by Google, including:

• Firebase Authentication - for user sign-in
• Cloud Firestore - for storing user data
