A testing network's geographic reach does not establish that your exam is available at every location. As of October 2026, the practical route is to start with the certification program, search its approved scheduling options and confirm an appointment. The cited pages do not establish the old article's claim of a universal new expansion in security-certification test centers.
Search through the exam program
Pearson's test-taker site directs candidates to their exam program for scheduling and support. Use that route to identify the relevant testing service. A building appearing on a general map is not enough to show that it delivers the exam you intend to take.
Check the location, exam name and language in the appointment process. If several centers are available, compare practical access and appointment times before choosing. Do not assume that a center offering another vendor's exam can accept a booking for yours.
We would keep the confirmation with the travel plan and inspect it again before leaving. An address copied from a search result may differ from the appointment instructions. Use the official notice for arrival, identification and contact details rather than an older training provider's location list.
GIAC tells candidates to use the attempt record
GIAC's proctor guidance describes scheduling through the SANS/GIAC account after an attempt is available. It says seats are first come, first served and provides a support route when candidates cannot find a suitable center. The actual attempt also determines which testing modalities are available.
This creates a dependency in the study plan: owning a voucher or course does not establish a booked seat. Inspect the exam deadline, then seek a suitable appointment while there is time to address a problem. A convenient date at a nearby site should not be assumed to remain available until the last day.
If the location search does not give a usable option, ask GIAC for help through its published contact. Explain the actual exam and location problem. Do not infer that a general remote-testing description guarantees approval for that particular attempt.
ISC2 registration has its own sequence
ISC2's registration page directs candidates through its official exam account and scheduling route. Follow that process for the intended certification. If you need an accommodation, the preparation page tells candidates to start with ISC2 before ordinary registration.
That order matters for location planning. An accommodation may need a particular arrangement that cannot be inferred from the general center listing. Resolve the approval and appointment through the prescribed route before treating travel dates as fixed.
For language-specific testing, check the issuer's availability page as well. A center can be physically accessible while the intended exam language or window is unavailable. Keep those questions separate so a positive answer to one is not mistaken for confirmation of all of them.
Plan around the confirmed appointment
After booking, read arrival and identification requirements, check the route and allow for predictable travel disruption. If the appointment must change, use the official rescheduling process and its current terms. An email to a training provider is not necessarily a change to the testing appointment.
Keep travel decisions proportionate to the evidence. Where a trip involves accommodation or a long trip, establish the exam booking before making commitments based solely on an advertised testing network. The location and time on the confirmation are the relevant operational details.
This month, we would move from program to attempt to appointment, then arrange travel. If no suitable appointment is available, seek an approved alternative before buying another product. That process is useful whether the testing network has grown, contracted or simply changed which exams a particular site offers.
